Since last Thursday was my birthday and my boyfriend John is the sweetest, he took me to lunch at The Meatball Shop on the LES of NYC. We had amazing vegetarian meatball sandwiches and homemade ice cream sandwiches for dessert. Yum! He followed it up with a trip to the beyond gorgeous Brooklyn Botanical Gardens where we shot some photos...

Usually on my birthday I wear a super-summery, somewhat fancy dress. But this year since it was so warm and since our plans involved a ton of walking- I decided to go with something very simple.

Update: Finally free!

I'M BACK! No really, I am, I promise! My silence the last 2.5 months or so have been due to the fact that I was completely overwhelmed while finishing up my last ever semester in school. I was taking 7 classes, an independent study, job hunting, and interning 20-30 hours each week! To say the least, it was complete madness!

BIG things have happened since my last post:

• I graduated! (finally)
• It's summer! (again, finally)
• I landed my first real fashion design job! (I started on Monday)
• I turned 24! (last Thursday)

Taking the Plunge

Welcome to Circa Style! I'm Heather and I've been intrigued by fashion as long as I can remember, so starting a style blog only seemed natural to me. But don't worry, Circa Style will be my own unique twist on things; with a plus sized angle and lots of little adventures!

I wanted to start thing off with a post in McCarren Park, here in New York. It is a common weekend stop for my boyfriend John (more about him later) and I, especially when the weather is nice, mostly because it has an amazing farmer's market. It was so windy, so  beware of  my unruly, windblown hair! Well, here goes!
